DePaulNOW Campus Tour App
Project Synopsis
Our goal was to develop an app prototype that is an online experience that demonstrates the unique qualities and excitement of attending DePaul for students who are considering applying to DePaul, but can’t make it to campus in-person. Since the 2020 pandemic, and the fact that many DePaul students are commuters or out of state, it was important to make the campus experience more accessible for more prospective students.
Through a process of research, synthesis, ideation, surveys, interviews, prototypes, and usability tests, we developed our final prototype in Figma. This prototype is a mobile app that allows prospective students to view a map of campus, different buildings, departments, courses, dorms, gym classes, and connect with other students on various subjects.

Interview Notes
(Names given are pseudonyms)
[Kate, 17 y/o senior] wished some of the sites included images of all dorms/parts of the colleges and some didn’t have photos or videos of all parts of the dorms or school.
[Christie, 21 y/o college junior] mentioned it was hard for her to visualize her student life in either because they were both so different from each other, from what her friends were doing, and also from her life as a high school student.
